Hi everyone! My name is Michelle and I’m from Region 4. I am reaching the last strides of my internship and am very thankful for all the wonderful preceptors that have helped guide me along my internship journey. I have had amazing preceptors that have imparted the wealth of their knowledge and support to me throughout my internship thus far, and I am thoroughly grateful for all of them.
Having really enjoyed working with patients and my time at the hospital, I spent not only my clinical, foodservice, and long-term care rotations there, but I also chose to spend part of my community experience with different hospitals as well. Since day 1 in September of my food service rotation, I have been welcomed by the RDs and foodservice staff I have worked with. As I grew and continued my internship, I transitioned to the clinical rotations where other members of the interdisciplinary team showed me the same friendliness as well, which helped solidify the feeling of being a member of the interdisciplinary team.
The internship experience has been a very fast journey that I have learned and grown so much through. From having no experience with patients to confidently being able to see patients and recommend appropriate nutritional needs for them and charting, I have learned and developed so much throughout the internship and am extremely grateful for the support behind me from my preceptors and the directors from the Sodexo internship team. I will remember all the wonderful RDs I have had the opportunity to learn from that I will model after as I continue towards becoming and RD.
