Hi everyone! My name is Jen Vachon. I am a member of the Fall ’17 distance cohort. Right now I am in my Food Service Management rotation at Titlest/FootJoy headquarters. I completed my clinical rotations at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Ma. My concentration is leadership and I hope to do the international experience with this concentration.

One of my most memorable experiences as a Sodexo dietetic intern was getting the opportunity to attend the centennial FNCE conference this past October in Chicago, IL. I was able to register for the conference as a student host. In addition to the amazing expo filled with hundreds of booths (and samples!), I also attended a number of interesting session presentations. It was a unique opportunity attending the student fair. This fair is for prospective dietetic interns to get to ask questions about the various dietetic internship programs. It is like a college fair or career fair but just for dietetic students! I really enjoyed being able to provide students with my own perspective of the Sodexo internship thus far. I think my opinion was really appreciated since I could relate to the student experience so closely having just graduated in May 2017.

Another great opportunity I had while in Chicago attending FNCE was the chance to represent the Sodexo dietetic internship as the Sodexo mascot, Carey the bear! I got to take pictures with people who visited the Sodexo booth at the expo. The people who took and posted photos even had the opportunity to win a fitbit! You can check out some of the photos from FNCE by searching #sodexoatfnce on Instagram! Being a mascot was definitely not something I expected to get to do during my internship but it was a lot of fun. I of course could not have done it without the wonderful team of folks at the Sodexo booth making sure Carey was well hydrated throughout! I can only imagine where the rest of my internship journey will take me.
