Hello! I’m Dana Jasick, a Sodexo Dietetic Intern in Denver, CO. My concentration is Wellness. I completed my Wellness concentration hours at the University of Denver. Nutrition does play a very large part in wellness, and there are other areas that can impact wellness such as finance, physical fitness, psychology, and the environment. Stress can have a negative impact on wellness. To help the students get through finals I held a ‘De-stress for Success’ health fair event. I created a Wheel of Stress for people to spin and answer a question about how stress affects the body, what nutrients affect the stress response of the body, and good sources of foods that may reduce stress. Just for participating everyone won a stress ball to get them through finals! I also had samples of energy balls filled with ingredients to help the body combat stress. If you’re feeling a little stressed right now give one of these a try:
