Ever wonder what you should eat when you’re a breastfeeding mom? You’re super busy nourishing your baby and sometimes you don’t even have time to feed yourself. However, making time to eat is important for a breastfeeding mom. Not only are you supporting the needs of yourself but you are also serving as a host to promote your baby’s growth and development. A well-balanced diet with a variety of nutrient-dense foods will help you produce better breast milk and maintain your milk supply. Most exclusively breastfeeding moms need an additional 300-500 calories to maintain pre-pregnancy weight and their energy.
Here is a quick smoothie recipe for you try!

Mixed Berry Banana Smoothie
Ingredients:
1/4 cup frozen mixed berries
1 frozen banana
1 tbs ground flax meal or brewer’s yeast
1 handful baby spinach or kale
¼ cup plain Greek yogurt/dairy-free yogurt of choice
1 cup milk or dairy free milk of choice

Instructions: Blend all ingredients together till smooth and creamy. Makes 1-2 servings.
