Program Description
Sodexo's Allentown, PA based Dietetic Internship is a part-time program (24 hours per week). Interns complete their clinical & food service supervised practice and didactic experiences on Monday's, Tuesday's & Wednesday's leaving Thursday-Sunday for work and/or other life activities. An additional 200 hours of community is also required however, interns will work with the program director to complete these hours when it is convenient for them; e.g. weekends, Thursday’s, Friday’s or during their winter vacation.
Interns are placed in Sodexo contracted facilities in the Pennsylvania/New Jersey Vicinity. Classes meet 1-2 times per month in Allentown. The program begins the first week in September and concludes the second week in August. One week vacation is granted late December and early January.
Part-time employment with Sodexo Health Care Services is encouraged concurrent with the internship however is not required. Many interns work part-time jobs not affiliated with our organization and others choose to work part-time jobs with Sodexo Health Care Services. The Sodexo Allentown Dietetic Internship was granted Initial Accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of The American Dietetic Association (ADA),120 Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL 60606-6995, 312-899-4876.
