Sodexo encompasses many business divisions, including the Healthcare Services Division, which provides food and nutrition management to over 1300 hospitals and institutions nationwide. The Mid-Atlantic Dietetic Internship is part of this growing and dynamic Healthcare Division. Our program was granted approval in 1989 as an AP4 and allowed us to train a maximum of ten interns each year. In 1999, we were fully accredited as a dietetic internship by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education. Based in the Mid-Atlantic region, our internship has chosen several hospitals in the Baltimore-Washington area where Sodexo manages the food and nutrition services to serve as training sites for our interns.
Each hospital is capable of providing the intern with a unique, yet comprehensive training experience, enabling the intern to meet all entry-level performance requirements. Utilizing the many resources of Sodexo and the use of one-on-one supervision, an optimum training environment is provided.
In addition to this individualized approach to training, our dietetic interns receive the benefits of group synergy through didactic training, case studies, journal reviews, field trips, group projects and more.
Applicants often ask about the success of the programs in which they are interested. One measure of our success is our excellent track record. Since its inception, 84% of our graduates have passed the CDR exam on the first try!
The Sodexo Mid-Atlantic Dietetic Internship is currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Educations by the American Dietetic Association, 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL 60606-6995, 312-899-4876.
