Hello! My name is Molly Hanchuruck, and I am a Sodexo Dietetic Intern in the distance option, and the majority of my rotations are being completed at Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital, both within the Cape Cod Health Care Network. I am currently in my concentration, which is leadership. In this rotation I am learning about how to become a better leader and about the responsibilities of the Clinical Nutrition Manager for my location. In addition to learning the duties of the Clinical Nutrition Manager, I have been working on National Nutrition Month activities for both of the hospitals. Some of these activities include: a month long food drive, favorite vegetable polling, weekly nutrition-related questions with prizes, and finally a Nutrition and Wellness Fair at the end of the month! After my first week of Favorite Vegetable polling, Cape Cod Hospital came in with a tie between broccoli and Brussel sprouts, both of which received 16 votes. Next week’s voting will take place at Falmouth Hospital and when all voting is complete an article will go out in the employee newsletter including the winning vegetable as well as recipes corresponding to them. Working with my Clinical Nutrition Manager has given me the confidence to not only plan, but also to initiate these activities.
